Weekly Activities

Monday

• Bingo -- Meets every week on Mondays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. except holidays.  Bingo currently meets at Unit #66.  The players typically gather for lunch after the last Bingo game of the month. You must play Bingo to attend the luncheon.

Tuesday

• Ladies Chat -- Ladies Chat has paused.

• The Washington County Free Library Bookmobile -- Arrives outside the Community Center every third Tuesday of each month from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

• Women in Touch (WIT) -- WIT is another informal monthly social gathering for the women at Summerland Manor.  This group gathers in the Community Center parking lot on the second Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. and carpool to a local restaurant, bar, or other destination.  For more information, please get in touch with Judy Whiteside (Unit 66). Please sign up on the Sign Up Sheet located in the Summerland Manor Community Center. 

• Men of Outstanding Talent OR Men Out of Touch (MOOT) -- MOOT is an informal monthly social gathering for the men at Summerland Manor. Typically, the group gathers in the Community Center parking lot on the third Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. and carpools to a local restaurant or bar. Please contact the Chairman of this club, Terry Fields (Unit 202), for more information.

Wednesday -- Nothing at this time.

Thursday -- Nothing at this time.

Friday

• Happy Hour Friday Night Social -- Meets every third Friday of the month in the Community Center from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Please bring snacks to share and your favorite beverages.  Each month, we will feature a different entrée.  Please sign up in the Community Center on the bulletin board OR call (301) 393-5770 and leave a message to include your name, unit number, and the number attending the social.  The number of attendees will determine the price of the Friday night social dinner. Social Committee History

Summerland Manor hosts events organized by our Social Committee. According to history, our dear Harry Lorden chaired this club and committee with the assistance of Margaret Pontzer to plan and coordinate social events for Summerland Manor. In 2018, the Board of Directors established a new Social Committee, which nominated Cathy Godfrey and Jane McGrath as co-chairs. From 2024 to present, our co-chairwomen are Judy Whiteside and June Datum. If you would like more information, please reach out to Judy or June.

Men of Outstanding Talent (MOOT)

MOOT is an informal monthly social gathering for the men at Summerland Manor. The group of men gathers on the second Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. and carpools to a local restaurant or bar. Often, the group will sponsor events at the Community Center, which likely involves the use of the pool table. For more information, please contact Terry Fields (Unit 202).
